Disneyland Resort Update: Legitimately Short Version Cuz Halloween Time's Coming Up
Disneyland Resort, Anaheim, CA
Halloween season is practically upon us in the theme park and themed attractions world, and we’ll be having plenty of spooky content in the next couple of months, but today, we have a quick (I promise this time!) update from the Disneyland Resort that primarily covers observations made over a couple of stops this past weekend.
Quick means no Star Wars, no parking structure, and no Downtown Disney. Because frankly, you can probably imagine that they’re progressing in more of the types of things as what you’ve been seeing. Instead, we’re just going to swing by a few things inside both parks.
Ready?
Lets go!
Pixar Fest Continues (Sorta)
So Pixar Fest officially ended after Labor Day, but you might not be able to tell if you walk around the Resort, because a lot of its attractions have remained running. Of course, there are the permanent Pixar Pier attractions. But there are plenty of Pixar Fest-specific items that were still running this past weekend. The Pixar Shorts Film Festival, restaurant overlays, and both parks’ parades continued. Actually discontinued: the limited time food menu (which has given way to Halloween Time), the Together Forever fireworks (which has reverted to the superior Remember… Dreams Come True), and the Pixar Fest merchandise and shopping bags!
Adventureland Refurbishment Work
In Adventureland, the pond between its entryway and that of Frontierland has been drained and is undergoing its once-every-few-years maintenance. Also, The Hideaway continues its work, with an opening date expected to be later this year, perhaps after Halloween season.
New Starbucks You Are Here Mugs
Just arrived at Starbucks in Disneyland Park are new You Are Here mugs. They had Fantasyland themed mugs a while ago, and the newest two celebrate New Orleans Square and Adventureland! They’re pretty cute.
A Bug's Land Fades Away
Mr. Disney… I don’t feel so good…
Yes, A Bug’s Land is no longer a part of Disney California Adventure. Work walls have gone up all around it, which also means dead ends at Hollywood Land and Cars Land where they used to connect. On the work walls fronting the main pathway from Buena Vista Street to Cars Land and Pacific Wharf, a Stark Industries sign has appeared. Hmmm, what attraction(s) could this indicate…?
Around Pixar Pier
Finally, around Pixar Pier, the carousel is still transforming, and World of Color is still being fixed. No word on when it will return, but it looks like it may be a while.
And as long as we're here, might as well throw in a few Incredicoaster photos of areas we didn't cover during our Pixar Pier [partial] premiere update a couple of months ago...
A few miscellaneous upcoming closure items…
White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian is closing in a couple of weeks for a remodel and will reopen at the end of the year. Stop by and grab the best nachos on the Resort while you still can!
Tangaroa Terrace, on the other side of Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, will be closing soon as well, reopening early next year with new decorations, a slightly revamped menu, plus Dole Whip and alcoholic drinks!
The Grand Californian will also be getting a new poolside bar coming early next year.
That does it for today! On tap this week is a recap of the finale of Ghost Town Alive, plus a look at the Disneyland Resort for this year’s Halloween Time. And things will get spooky this weekend, as Universal Studio’s Halloween Horror Nights opens on Friday and Six Flags Magic Mountain’s Fright Fest opens Saturday! Yes, the most wonderful time of the year is upon us. Lets get spoopy again!
