Zombie Joe's Underground: February & March 2020 Happenings

Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre, North Hollywood, CA

It’s been a little while since we’ve checked in with Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre, and while we focus on them during haunt season, this avant garde and provocative theater troupe puts on performances throughout the year. This month, they’ve got a pair of productions that offer diametrically opposed tones, but which sound both promise unique and riveting entertainment.

The Boogeyman Within

The first is an encore of a haunted immersive theater experience that Zombie Joe’s put on earlier this month. The Boogeyman Within is a 20 minute blindfolded experience experienced in singles or couples. It’s intense, visceral, and guaranteed to be unforgettable as only Zombie Joe’s and his maniacal fiends can do!

Rod Roget’s Celebrity Nightcap!

On the opposite spectrum, laughs will abound in an original spy story entitled Rod Roget’s Celebrity Nightcap! Mixing in some James Bond and Austin Powers, this production is the first of Zombie Joe’s series of creative and non-horror plays for the year, and it looks to be a smashing riot!

Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre Group, and producer Zombie Joe, proudly present the first play of ZJU’s New Play Series 2020: The World-Premiere Comedy-Spy-Thriller "ROD ROGET’S CELEBRITY NIGHTCAP!", a lighthearted look back at 1973, when the Cold War was freezing, Women’s Lib was in full swing, and so was Rod Roget, founder of PetMate Magazine and his TV talk show: Celebrity Nightcap!  Can Rod and the PetMates crown PetMate of the Year, solve a murder and ensure World Peace, all before the 11 O’clock News?  Written by Los Angeles playwright John Santo and Directed by Denise Devin; Produced by Zombie Joe.  For Ages 14 and up.
