Knott's Berry Farm Update: Fiesta Village Construction Continues

Greetings, folks! Over the weekend, we checked out the Boysenberry Festival at Knott’s Berry Farm! It was delicious and charming and all the family-fun, high-caloric goodness that it normally is, but before we get to that, we’re going to have a very quick update on Fiesta Village construction. Like super brief—like wow, I didn’t know Albert could actually write short updates brief.

Except he’s totally making this longer than necessary already by being expository about his lack of brevity.

Fair point.

Lets start with a view from the Sky Cabin, where you’ll have to excuse the lack of sharpness owing to the Sky Cabin windows not being washed since the Soap Box Derby Racer era… or something like that. It seems. We have to say “it seems” so that we can create plausible deniability in case someone wants to challenge our journalistic integrity or decides to sue us for making blatantly false statements.

Welcome to the birds’ eye view of Knott’s Berry Farm from the Sky Cabin!

Today, you can see that Fiesta Village construction has progressed, closing off pretty much the entire land except for the strip of walkway connecting Camp Snoopy to the Boardwalk and a little detour to Jaguar, which is the only ride currently operating in the land.

At the top corner, you can see that the Jaguar temple is starting to get some mural work.

The building construction is pretty far along, though work walls still block the facades.

Over in the northwest corner of Fiesta Village, the Dragon Swing appears to be getting primed for repainting.

Concrete masonry (or cinder block) walls are being built up for new planters.

The temple definitely has more work to do, and presumably, it will progress more aggressively when the ride closes.

Another CMU planter wall can be seen near the currently open walkway.

Next, lets return to ground level and peek through the blatantly-not-well-concealed construction viewpoints to see the progress that’s been done from a closer level.

Down at human height, here are the same work walls blocking the building facades. There are still little parcels that are not completely finished.

On the ground, new pavers cross the walkway, offering a glimpse at what the new Fiesta Village will actually look like.

To the north, a lot of the colored concrete has been completed.

One planter is getting some mosaic tiling.

And La Revolución has been repainted to its new color scheme!

On the opposite side, Sol Spin and the Merry Go Round are now closed. The game stands have been torn down, and the area opened up.

Rebar has been laid for new paving, and the Fiesta Village stage has been stripped down to its bare structure.

There’s a little side route to the entrance of Jaguar, which remains operational at the moment.

Here’s another peek at La Revolución from a different angle.

Over by Montezooma, the queue has been pretty disassembled, and entrance area has been demolished down to bare dirt.

The ride building remains intact. The new station for Montezooma is supposed to be a mysterious temple, suggesting that maybe the Jaguar station structure and Montezooma station structure could be combined (that’s just speculation), but we’ll see how things actually turn out!

Knott’s has not announced an opening date for the completed and reborn Fiesta Village yet, and there is still a fair amount of work remaining on Montezooma. Jaguar has been in operation this entire time, and at some point, it will have to be closed to allow the reinstallation of Montezooma roller coaster track and repainting and additional work on its own coaster track and facilities. But we can expect sometime this summer, and the result is definitely going to be a vibrant refresh of this colorful land!
