Knott's Scary Farm Summer 2021 Mini-Update

Well, this is strange. A theme park update?? We haven’t done one of those in a while. Even stranger, this will be a rather short update, which if you have ready anything I’ve written, you know is even rarer. But here we are, marking this #ShriekySunday with a little something from Knott’s Berry Farm and a look ahead of what we hopefully have to look forward to in the fall as along as current Coronavirus trends hold up and the Delta variant (not to be confused with the multiple Loki variants… and not to be confused with an alternate universe where Delta Airlines controls all of the world’s airways) doesn’t impact us as badly as some worry. And yes, I know it’s July 4th, so we should be posting something patriotic and American. But then again, July 4th has now become linked with the Purge movies, and Purge is a franchised featured at Halloween Horror Nights, which is a haunt, which is what we’re looking at here, except with a capital H. Make sense?

Well, regardless, one of the hotly speculated topics in Knott’sdom online has been whether Scary Farm next year. Nothing official has been announced yet, though the park did tease at some details being unearthed on July 15th. But behind the scenes, yes, the park has been working under the assumption that Scary Farm will happen this year. This is because planning, preparation, and construction occupies the entire year, and decisions and build have to be done well in advance of the event. Better to put in the work and have to pull out the rug last minute than do nothing now and scramble to assemble a hodgepodge later.

So lets take a look at what’s happening around the Farm and maybe even utilize our super real and verified and ultra accurate sources to address some of the rumors and speculation, yeah?

Lets start out over by Ghostrider, where we can confirm that The Depths will be back this year!

This is huge, earth-shattering news that will surprise absolutely no one who understands it’s still a relatively new maze that has remained popular in its first couple of seasons.

Also, being a maze located backstage, it’s one of the Scary Farm attractions that can remain mostly up during the year.

Over at Xcelerator, there’s been a lot of buzz about what will be going here after Shadowlands was confirmed to be in its last season a couple of years ago.

Well, our sources tell us that they can, without a doubt, confirm that the double height black walls prove that this will actually be a Halloween Horror Nights tribute maze!

Yes, Knott’s will be giving a shoutout to its friendly rival up north by constructing a maze called Hades’ Hellish Netherrealm that will be entirely devoted to all the elements that Universal has in their haunted houses!

The entrance on the left will be an impressive facade full of details, as Universal is apt to do.

The main warehouse building will be one giant water gag section where “blood” leaks, rains, sprays, and waterfalls onto guests without warning!

Moving up, you can see more black walls in the back to further pay tribute to Universal’s black hallways.

We’re also told that the shed will feature odors of all sorts, mixed together. They’re calling it the “Smelling Suite.”

The rigging you see in the back will be used to control the most elaborate giant puppetry boo box scare ever concocted. It’s going to be an epic finale that you won’t want to miss!

Over by Camp Snoopy, we can also confirm that Pumpkin Eater will also be back!

One way we know is that this maze also hasn’t really been taken down during the regular year.

The other reason we know is because of that giant pumpkin facade you can see over the walls.

More maze walls are visible underneath this side of the stagecoach tracks.

OMG Knott’s uses black tarp too, just like the home haunts!!!

Moving over to Wilderness Dance Hall, we find construction for Origins: The Curse of Calico well underway. Or do we? I don’t know. The building is enclosed and locked. They could also be pivoting after one season of arguably their most epic maze ever and creating a brand new maze themed to Ghastly Geriatric Graveyard Gerbils.

And moving to the Mystery Lodge area, home to the other new Scary Farm maze that will debut this year (because Special Ops: Infected was also confirmed to be running its final season in 2019), we can see…

…absolutely nothing. But our sources tell us that this will be home to the long-rumored Spaghetti Monster maze. Called Perilous Pasta Portal, it will mix mysticism and noods in an all-new terrifying carb-heavy experience!
